I began ‘Hestia’s Haven’ at the beginning of 2022 and completed it in June of 2023, it was inspired by a thought I had about how when two or more people come together through mutual appreciation, a kind of mental home or shelter forms around them. One could argue that this shelter is just as (if not more) important than a physical one. It made me wonder if it was possible to create a mental home without the help of others.

Hestia was one of the few titans who escaped the fall of Babel unbroken. She teaches the little creatures that inhabit her haven how to live independently (both physically and mentally) through a process of connecting to the ‘inner’. A place deep within each of us that is mostly disconnected from the conscious, which is why connection to it feels much like connection to that which is outside of us. The inner knows all and is connected to all. It guides those willing to listen.
